Hi. After finally being able to find this forum after it switched from the other site, I check in pretty often but there are not that many posts that I have
seen. Am I looking in the wrong place?

HI! I think this is the place. I wondered about the change-over having an effect. Probably lost a few in the move.
Any completion updates? I was down there a couple of years ago and want to get back, but just wondering about the status... Thanks, Don |

Y'all are both correct! The change over to YUKU hurt!!!! We had no choice. The old EZBOARDS format was evidently done away with.
This site will be here until October this year. After that..........it's ADIOS! Y'all keep checking though. No tellin what ya might find in here.

any new trail completion updates

As far as I know, the 2.5 section past Cedartown is supposed to be completed in August or September. I am eager to make the whole trip from Weaver, AL to
Smyrna when it is completed. Will probably have vehicles waiting to bring us back to Alabama since my riding partners have not done that much distance before.
I think the idea arrangement would be to start in Cedartown and go toward Atlanta one day and back, spend the night and the next day go to Weaver and back.
Should be interesting though wherever we start and FUN.

THANKS! | ||

I'd like to do back to back 100's when it's done, but I can't seem to get out to do big miles this year. Weather has not been cooperating, but
if it stays warm I'm going to just have to ride in the rain and go fo' it.
Thanks for the update. |

Two day round trip this fall
|
Apparently the two trails will be completely finished by mid Sept. 08. My group wants to ride to Anniston and return the next day as soon as it is do-able.
An inaugral event for history. Maybe we can get a local welcoming committee to meet us in Anniston if we can do it right after the dedication ceremony. There
will be a positive economic impact for the city of Anniston if they realize they need to cater to the long distance bicyclists. If they see $ they will make
the trail safe to encourage cyclo-tourism. Could become an annual event to mark the anniversary of the two trail's completion.
Ideas? |

Just rode to Grady Rd from Florence Rd yesterday. There is no construction activity there as of yesterday. Wonder how many months it takes to build 2.5 miles?

Oh. that is discouraging to hear. I was hoping construction was coming along and it would be completed at least by September. I would really rather not
venture off the trails onto the unfamiliar roads.

Actually, even if the last couple of miles are not completed the posted bicycle road signs and local traffic are used to seeing cyclists passin thru. Pudden,
may I ask if Weaver is the western end of the CLT or does into continue into Anniston? My group wants to ride from the Floyd Road crossing on the SCT (about
five miles from the eastern end I believe) to Anniston, stay over night and come back on Sunday. It's not quite a 100 miles (Century). So we are thinking
we can ride the remaining miles needed to make it an even 100 by using roads around Anniston. This is planned for the Fall sometime. We are looking for ideas
from others about this route. Richard

Hello there imhere,
If we could get PaJoe to post in here again, he can tell you all routes and "pig" trails in that area.
